Focus

Hale Lea Medicine's focus is to provide: (a) Preventive Health services to prevent problems before they arise; (b) the highest level of Primary Care and Specialty Medicine that includes a broad paradigm to manage problems when they develop; (c) Urgent Care Services to treat injuries and illnesses requiring immediate attention; (d) and Integrative Medicine when safer alternative approaches to health can be employed.

Services

Hale Lea Medicine provides the full scope of family practice medicine, treating all forms of chronic and acute illness and injury, including pediatric, geriatric and adult medicine services. Hale Lea also acts as a community access point for other services including mental health counseling, physical therapy, therapeutic massage, acupuncture, family planning, STD screening, well and sick child visits, physicals, reproductive health care, health counseling, preventive medicine education, bio-identical hormone evaluation and treatment, anti-aging and functional medicine, as well as screenings for breast, colon, prostate and cervical cancers, cardiovascular risk, high blood pressure, and diabetes.

Specialists in orthopedics, urology, psychology and/or social work, physical therapy, and physical medicine and rehabilitation come directly to our facility allowing patients to be seen in their own neighborhood if they choose. Hale Lea Medicine continues to develop its department of complimentary and integrative medicine (CAM) incorporating the most advanced evidence based work in this field. Hale Lea, through KCHA, is also dedicated to providing affordable medical care to low income uninsured, and disadvantaged residents of the area it serves.

Insurance

Hale Lea accepts Quest, Medicare and Medicaid patients, as well as HMSA, UHA, HMAA, Kaiser, Blue Cross Blue Shield, No-Fault auto insurance, Worker's Compensation, and many others.

Service Area

KCHA presently serves the towns of Haena, Wainiha, Hanalei, Princeville, Kilauea, Anahola and Kapaa. The clinic presently handles approximately 10,000 patient visits per year.
